Steering Team

The mothers we meet in MOPS are all special to us. We love being in the position to serve these women who consistently show us what a servant’s heart truly looks like. It’s our turn to give back to these mothers, moms who empty themselves for their families. We would love to introduce you to your 2012-2013 Steering Team, and we look forward to getting to know you too!

Melissa Coram | Lead Coordinator
I love being a mother! My husband and I have two children ages 4 and 9. Life is never dull around our house! That is why I love MOPS! I feel it is so important to connect with other moms. I enjoy the fellowship and the ability to laugh with other moms. Realizing that I am not alone on this journey through motherhood gives me great comfort and joy. This is my second year in MOPS and my first on the steering team. I am so excited to be serving this group and seeing where God takes us this year!

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

Jessica Buttram | Publicity Coordinator
My husband and I have two children ages 2 and 8. They definitely keep us on our toes! This is my second year attending MOPS, and my first on the steering team. I look forward to serving the moms in our area, helping to give them that much-needed break! I have enjoyed the fellowship we had in the previous year, as well as getting to know other moms, swapping the sweet stories and the not-so-sweet. I am excited to see what God has in store for us this year!

Psalm 45:11
The King is enthralled by your beauty; honor Him for He is Your Lord.

Rachel Duncan | Social Coordinator
I have been in MOPS/MOMSnext since it started seven years ago. This year I will be serving as Social Coordinator. I love a party, I love a bargain, and I love my family! My husband and I are honored to be the parents of three kids, ages 9, 6, and 3 months. I hate being pregnant, I love having preschoolers, and I wrinkle my nose up uncontrollably when I tell the server “no tomatoes” on my salad at restaurants. I can’t wait for another great year with MOPS!

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

Amanda Peeples | Membership & Finance Coordinator
I threatened Amanda with making up a, ahem, creative bio that might have included having eleven kids (all girls!) and early retirement from mining gold in the Alaskan tundra if she didn’t provide me with her own (more accurate) bio. Even though my threat is in good faith, I can’t have you thinking she and her husband are gold tycoons. But this is her second year with MOPS/MOMSnext, and she is probably busy shepherding her girls (just the two) between school and other commitments right this second. I also hear she really loves Mexican food. (Or maybe I made that up.)

Patricia Hill | Hospitality Coordinator
I have been married for 11 years and have 4 kiddos (ages 9, 6, 3, and 1). Yes, a full house! I work from home as a Medical Transcriptionist (in between cleaning, cooking, changing diapers, chasing kids, and well, you get the idea!). I have been in MOPS at Fountain City since I moved to Knoxville 5 years ago and really have enjoyed getting to know the other moms. This year, as in the past, I look forward to helping moms and their families when there are needs to be met: babies being born, surgeries, broken bones, etc. I am looking forward to another great year of MOPS!

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Sarah Greene | Mentor Mom
This is my second year serving as a mentor mom. I am excited about this year as I have now retired and hopefully will be able to be of more help to MOPS. I retired after 39 years in banking. My husband retired in 2006 after teaching for 40 years. We have one daughter who is 28 years old and one grandson who just turned two. He is lots of fun and we are enjoying being able to visit with them more. I enjoy reading, piecing quilts, cardmaking, knitting, and gardening.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Wanda Ledford | Mentor Mom
This is where Wanda, in her second year as MOPS/MOMSnext Mentor Mom, would tell you all about her lovely family, but she’s impossible to get a hold of, because she keeps busy loving on moms, their kids, and basically everyone she comes in contact with. You can usually track her down at church helping out in the nursery or at the local library reading to your kids or polishing her halo, because she really is that great, you guys. Come to our next MOPS/MOMSnext meeting to see for yourself!
